Kelsey Love Zaavedra

Kelsey is the President of The Summer Kitchen Cooperative, a marketing cooperative for small-scale, regenerative farmers. She runs Heirloomista, a woman-owned and operated farm in Minnesota. The farm’s mission is to heal the earth through agriculture and inspire people to engage with the land in a meaningful way. Without connection to place and land, our local food systems will disappear. Kelsey believes in making farms accessible to everyone interested so that even those who do not farm can experience the importance of it. During her process of creating spaces for emerging farmers, she discovered the resistance rural communities have to changing models of farming. Through this experience, she committed to finding ways to make it easier for emerging farmers through policy, advocacy, and community organizing.
