Jerome Warren

Jerome Nikolai Warren is a German-American political economist focused on the intersection between democracy, cooperation, sustainability, and (business) networks and has conducted applied research on the cooperative economy of Italy, publishing on the evolution of Italian social and community cooperatives. He’s helped found and leads various civil society organizations such as the Rudolf Rocker Institute and the German Institute for Economic Democracy and is on the board of directors of the 501c3 non-profit Evolution Institute. Between 2022 and 2024, as chair at the Belgian Royal Academy of Arts, Sciences, and Letters, he advised the Belgian sovereign wealth fund on its strategies in helping make Belgian firms more sustainable. He has edited numerous volumes including the Routledge Handbook of Cooperative Economics & Management and the forthcoming Global Cooperative Economics and Movements. He is currently at the University of Cologne.
