Jennifer Stedt

Jennifer Stedt is the Chief Executive Officer of North Star Credit Union (NSCU), a member-owned cooperative serving communities across northern Minnesota, including Duluth, Cook, Brooks, Virginia, and Nashwauk, since 1939.

 Jennifer brings more than 30 years of experience in financial institutions to her role. She served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at NSCU for five years before being appointed interim CEO in November 2022 and subsequently named permanent CEO in 2023.

 Prior to her time at North Star, Jennifer served as a Compliance and Audit Consultant at the Minnesota Credit Union Network, where she guided credit unions across the state on regulatory adherence and compliance best practices. That foundation has shaped her leadership approach ever since — she applies a compliance-first lens to technology, operations, and strategic decision-making, ensuring the credit union meets the highest standards of regulatory integrity.

Throughout her tenure at North Star, Jennifer has been a driving force behind strategic growth and community investment. She championed the credit union’s expansion into the Quad Cities region and has consistently emphasized the credit union’s commitment to financial education. Under her leadership, providing financial education to students has remained a core passion of the organization.

Jennifer is known for her creative, solutions-oriented leadership — a knack for finding a path forward when none seems obvious. She is guided by North Star’s mission to deliver high-quality financial services and education to the communities it serves — and its vision of helping build thriving communities across northern Minnesota.
